After weeks of work by contractors and volunteers, the teachers’ housing is complete! Four new buildings stand on the school campus, and three homes nearby were renovated to be equally desirable. These modern homes are some of the highest quality in the village.
With features like handicap accessible entries, tile floors, solar powered electricity, ventilation, and detached kitchens and outhouses, teachers were ecstatic to see their new homes. All six teachers rushed back to Konkourona to attend the blessing of the new dwellings.
The Director gave an energized speech about the high hopes for the new school year. Parents and teachers alike spoke about their dedication to helping all students excel.
The ceremony also celebrated the arrival of textbooks! For the first time ever, every student in Konkourona has their own textbooks! Coupled with new and improved classrooms with electricity, students are prepared to have a year like never before.
We want to thank all of our supporters for helping us build a brand new world of possibilities for the children of Konkourona. The many small faces in the audience will grow up with opportunities that their parents never had, and the community is continually grateful.
